The Saponifist X Kuanth

It’s All Hallows' Eve again! This year we’d like to present to you a limited edition collaborative soap project with Kuanth a Singapore based Malaysian illustrator who counts art and design as his absolute passion. After toiling for five years in the publishing and advertising industries, he took a bold step forward to become a freelance illustrator in 2002. His artworks are featured in llustrators In & Out: What Moves Them & How They Move Art by CYPI Press, Asian Illustrators by Monsaand and numerous magazines. A personal favourite of his achievements is the agnès b my bag X kuanth, a limited edition collectible collaboration with agnès b.

This two-bar Halloween special was inspired by the macabre blood-drinking Vampire Finches that’s native to the Galápagos Islands. Kuanth anthropomorphize these blood fetishes, Mr & Mrs Vampire Finch with their pets Venus Flytrap and Centipede. Made with Australian Red Clay, it symbolises the blood that were drained with the scent of Juniperberry and Vetiver essential oil. Mr Finch is armed with a sharp note of Petitgrain while Mrs Finch has a slightly merciful note of Geranium. And as you shower with the Finches, don’t be afraid when the soap starts to literally bleed (the clay) because what’s Halloween without a bloody mess?

We would like to extend many thanks to Kuanth for the opportunity and also to Sin who had made this connection possible.
